My favourite Cerave cleansers!
My favourite cleansers!!
My favourite cleansers are either cream or gel formulas and here are the reasons why; in fact it’s a long story so brace yourself ☺️. Ooh where do I even begin? So I used to think that wiping makeup away with “gentle” baby wipes was so innovative and effective. I’d then wash my face with very harsh “suitable for oily skin” foaming cleansers. Little did I know that my skin actually wasn’t oily and was just dehydrated and because I was cleansing with very harsh products, my skin was producing even more sebum to compensate, making me think I had oily skin. Anyways, I slowly developed interest in skincare and started reading up on skin types and ingredients in skincare. Only then I realised how wrong I was during all my youth years and that’s when I discovered Cerave Hydrating cleanser. I also started using an oil cleanser to melt my waterproof makeup away and then used the Cerave hydrating cleanser as my second cleanse. No joke, it calmed my problematic skin within 2 weeks and looked healthier. That’s how I fell in love with the brand Cerave and then it was a slippery slope. I used the hydrating cleanser and Cerave foaming cleanser (mind you it’s very gentle unlike typical harsh foaming cleansers) for good three years until I needed to add Salicylic acid to my routine. I was using a BHA serum that was helping my skin but at the same time it was making my skin quite sensitive. I then decided to switch my Cerave cleansers to Cerave SA smoothing cleanser and I didn’t regret that decision. It’s been over a year now that not just myself but my whole family is using this cleanser including my pre teen child who has a spotty nose all of a sudden. Salicylic acid helps exfoliates inside the pores making them clean and clog free resulting in healthier skin with no breakouts. The cleanser is not harsh as the BHA serum I was using but it’s still giving me the same results that I wanted from salicylic acid but without the side effects. I never let my household run out of the gel consistency SA smoothing cleanser and here is a pic of the my recent delivery of stocking up on it. Cerave hydrating cleanser will always be one of my favourite as that was a milestone in my skincare journey. I still recommend it loud and proud to all my family - I always return to it during the winter months when I don’t think my skin needs a lot of salicylic acid and always use SA smoothing cleanser or the blemish prone cleanser in hot summer months when i experience breakouts. It’s hard to say which Cerave cleanser is my number 1, but it’s safe to say that I’d happily use any of the Cerave cleanser any day, be it foaming, hydrating or oil based - they’re all my favourite. Thank you Cerave!!
