When I was growing up as a teenager, we were encouraged to use daily exfoliating scrubs (often containing harsh beads), advised that it was ‘good for our skin’ and would ‘clear acne’. This is a myth, using this kind of exfoliant daily will only irritate the skin. You’re much better off using a gentle AHA once or twice a week, my favourite being glycolic acid. #FactCheckYourFeed 

Some use hairspray as a makeup setting spray. Think I'll stick to using it on my hair rather than have a sticky face!

i’ve seen people on social media and real people i know use ibuprofen to get rid of spots. They would crush a tablet of ibuprofen and apply it to their spots! sounds crazy doesn’t it? i still haven’t tried it as i don’t know if it actually works x

In the '80's we used white toothpaste on our acne overnight. All it did was dry out the skin in that area...but we believed it worked. Another crazy thing we did was put iodine in a bottle of baby oil and then climb up on the roof to tan... we believed it helped us tan? Ha ha.

I am totally in love with the CeraVe hydrating cream to foam cleanser. It’s a staple in my skincare routine. I can’t rave about it enough. I love how hydrating my skin feels after using it but also I have that clean face feeling without without feeling like my face has been stripped off. #MeandCeraVe

Someone once suggested to me to use lube as moisturiser for dry skin. What do you guys think about this?
