I have a question about hyaluronic acid. I started by using it in the morning in the form of a serum. This was making my suncream extremely flaky. I then decided to get its benefits as part of the ingredients in a normal daily moisturiser. This hasn’t caused any issue with my suncream. But I wonder: is it as effective on the skin? I have a combination skin with the odd spots around the jawline. Thank you!

Hi, it will still be effective but not as much as if you apply the serum directly to damp skin. Also, try allowing time between applications to let the product absorb into the skin before applying the next step. As well as using less product, sometimes when we apply too much, the product just sits on top of the skin. Hope this helps! 💙 (edited)

I would think that as long as the concentration is high enough then yes. Mixing in with a moisturiser stills locks it into the skin, it’s applying it on top which creates a barrier and so makes it ineffective. 💙
